Can I let you in on a secret?
It’s a little embarrassing, but I’m actually a bit woo-woo.
I totally believe in visualisations and I know it works, because it has worked for me. A LOT.
Yes, It Still Involves Effort
I’m not saying, I visualised something and BOOM, it comes true immediately. To tell you the truth, it’s not very exciting at all and maybe, not even the slightest bit magical (but still pretty amazing when it DOES happen) because it still takes a lot of hard work and effort to get there.
I’ve set my sights on some pretty awesome things, like, being the first in my family to move out of the country (on my own!), to marrying the man of my dreams, traveling the world and successfully licensing my work.
Once I know what I want, I believe it can happen for me. It takes unwavering faith that it can come true. It also means saying ‘no’ to a lot of distractions, making sacrifices, and not settling for less.
Why am I sharing this with you? Well, because I was listening to Jenna Kutcher’s podcast (Episode 257, if you’re curious) and one of the things that she said her coach had her do was to set three visions of what she wanted her future life to look like. And it reminded me that it’s what I actually do.
What Does Your Ideal Life Look Like?
Visions are like imagining what your life would be like as a successful creativepreneur, visualise how it feels like, what you’re wearing, what your day looks like.
My ideal vision of my day looks like this:
I wake up at 6.30am, go for a 10 km walk listening to Jenna’s podcasts, have breakfast with my family, then sit down at the computer to prep files for a client. Have a phone call with a client. Send a follow-up email to a company, and an email to ask to a textile company to check on the production of an upcoming fabric collection. Work on some business admin stuff, or maybe work on a new portfolio. Make dinner, spend time with my family, do a bit of reading and finally, bed.
And guess what? That all actually happened THIS WEEK! I seriously had to pinch myself, and ask, ‘Wait, is this actually happening?‘
Be A Dreamer
My friends, I’m asking you today, what are you thinking and visualising for yourselves? Because it is what sets the tone to this journey. This is why the ‘dreamer’ part in my Facebook group resonates so much with me. In order for something to become a reality, you have to dream it first.
Tell me, what are your dreams? Be as specific as you can. That’s right, it may be embarrassing for you to share it, but I’ve just shared my secret with you. This is a safe place, go on… it’s really okay to be a bit brave and share your visions.
